Photo mode

AI photo selection from a plain-English brief

Sollestro's Photo mode selects the keepers from thousands of images. Describe what to keep in a plain-English brief and Claude keeps, rejects and picks the best of each burst. Verdicts land as DaVinci Resolve flags and a Keepers bin, or as XMP colour labels and star ratings for Lightroom, Capture One and Bridge. Resolve is optional for this mode.

How AI photo selection works

Point Sollestro at a folder of thousands of images and describe what to keep in plain English. Claude looks at every frame, scores it for content and quality, compares the frames in each burst, and picks the best. You get the keepers without scrubbing through the rejects by hand.

Does it work with Lightroom or Capture One?

Yes. In Folder + XMP mode, Sollestro writes a colour label and a 0 to 5 star rating as XMP: a sidecar file for RAW, or embedded for JPEG and TIFF. Lightroom, Capture One and Bridge read those straight away, so the selection lands in the tool you already use.

Do I need DaVinci Resolve for photos?

No. The Folder + XMP workflow runs without Resolve at all. If you do use Resolve, Sollestro can instead write its verdicts as flags and drop the keepers into a Keepers bin. Your choice.

What about RAW files?

Sollestro reads the embedded preview from RAW files across Canon, Sony, Nikon, Fuji and more, so Claude can judge every shot without a separate export.

What does it cost?

It runs on your own Claude API key, and a cheaper Batch mode keeps big photo jobs affordable. The licence is the same one that includes the video editor: $199 once and you own it, or $19 a month or $149 a year.

Frequently asked questions

How do I select photos with AI?

Point Sollestro at a folder, describe what to keep in plain English, and Claude keeps, rejects and picks the best of each burst. Verdicts land as Resolve flags or as XMP for Lightroom.

Does AI photo selection work with Lightroom?

Yes. Sollestro writes XMP colour labels and star ratings that Lightroom, Capture One and Bridge read directly, in Folder + XMP mode.

Do I need DaVinci Resolve to select photos?

No. The Folder + XMP workflow runs without Resolve. Resolve is only needed if you want the flags and Keepers bin workflow.

How much does the AI cost for photos?

You pay Anthropic directly on your own key. A Batch mode lowers the cost for large jobs, and Sollestro logs every penny in the app.
